Mission of Perseverance (2021)
I made this piece for my Illustration class; our objective was to create the cover illustration for a magazine, I chose to illustrate the success of NASA’s Perseverance Rover landing on Mars. I juxtaposed the Rover against the landscape to show the Rover’s scale and pristine condition in contrast to the vast and harsh landscape of Mars. I positioned the Rover on the edge of a crater to allude to the Rover’s ability to detect and circumvent hazards on the Martian planet, while creating a "wild west" mood.

Careful planning and considerations were made to ensure none of the magazine overlays would conflict with key elements of the work.
