This piece is part of an ongoing project centered around a researcher adventuring across a Eurasia filled with mythical creatures and ancient ruins spread across the land.  This scene kicks off their adventure following a sign to journey to new lands in search of answers to questions the researcher has in regards to ancient stone monuments recording events lost to history.  On the right hand side is the orthogonal for the mythical creature in the painting.
